Wash grapplers wear crown at DeWitt

DEWITT - Dax Dill, Trey Schuler, Jon Rockwell and Tyler Burrell won individual titles Saturday as Cedar Rapids Washington took top honors at the Saber Invitational wrestling tournament in DeWitt.

The Warriors collected 207 points and emerged from a tight four-way battle with DeWitt Central (203), Clinton (199) and Solon (189.5) to finish in first place.

Dill won the 106-pound title with a major decision over Louis Gnida of Solon, 18-6. Schuler claimed the 120-pound title with a 6-1 victory over Christian Flenker of Maquoketa.

Rockwell captured the 126-pound trophy by pinning Emmitt Enyeart of DeWitt Central in the finals in 1:50. Burrell won the 285-pound crown with a 3-1 verdict over Creighton Fox of DeWitt Central.

Trevor Luebe (138) and Drake Hickok (170) placed second for the Warriors.
