Schmidt is 'Mr. Touchdown' in Metro
Linn-Mar senior quarterback Ryan Schmidt knows his way into the end zone.
Schmidt has scored 17 touchdowns this season and leads all Metro football players by a wide margin in scoring with 102 points. He ranks fourth in Class 4A in scoring.
Jefferson tailback Tavian Rashed and Xavier quarterback Bryce Schulte are tied for second in Metro scoring with 10 touchdowns for 60 points.
Keagan Pinter of Prairie leads Metro rushers with 921 yards in eight games and could reach the magic 1,000 mark Friday night against Ottumwa.
Jefferson quarterback Jesse Furrow leads the Metro in passing yards with 1,090, but Kennedy QB Sammy Lizarraga is right behind with 1,049. Schmidt has passed for 981 yards and will be going head-to-head against Furrow Friday night when Linn-Mar hosts the J-Hawks.
