Ryan Schrimper fired a 6-under-par 66 Saturday at Gardner Golf Course and will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the 2013 Men's City Amateur.
The final round will be played Sunday at Ellis Park.
Schrimper, a former Linn-Mar prep who will be a junior this fall at Mount Mercy, has a 36-hole score of 9-under 135 heading into the final 18 holes. Steve Koepke also fired a 66 Saturday and trails Schrimper by two shots at 7-under 137.
Justin Pansegrau stands third with a 36-hole score of 69-70=139.
Tom Stiefel, the first-round leader, struggled with a 79 Saturday and is tied for 10th place at 147.
Dane Worley, the defending champion, shot a 3-under 69 Saturday and is in seventh place at even-par 144.
Fifty-three players made the cut at 156.
The final round at Ellis will begin at 8 a.m. Schrimper, Koepke and Pansegrau will be in the final group at 10:50 a.m.
