Linn-Mar and Xavier remained ranked eighth and 10th in the Associated Press Iowa high school football Class 4A poll.

Linn-Mar and Xavier are the only Metro teams ranked in the top 10. Marion is the only other Metro team that received votes. The Indians (1-0) are on the cusp of breaking into the Class 3A top 10 poll.

Linn-Mar (1-0) hosts Kennedy (0-1) and Xavier (1-0) hosts Prairie (0-1) Friday night.

Cedar Falls and Iowa City High are ranked 1-2 in the Class 4A poll. West Des Moines Valley is No. 3.

Sioux City Heelan is ranked No. 1 in Class 3A. Defending state champion Solon is No. 2.
