Cedar Valley Christian - Boys Basketball

Johnson scores 15 points in CVC loss

SPRINGVILLE - Michael Johnson scored 15 points for Cedar Valley Christian Friday night in the Huskies' 68-33 loss to East Buchanan.

East Buchanan led by only 16-12 at halftime, but outscored the Huskies 52-21 in the second half.

Josh Reeder led East Buchanan with 16 points.

Huskies mauled by Marquette

SPRINGVILLE - Marquette built a 42-5 lead by halftime and rolled past Cedar Valley Christian, 59-13, Tuesday in boys basketball.

Tom Scroggs scored six points to lead CVC.

Cedar Valley boys dunked by Easton Valley

PRESTON - Chase Zaruba scored 18 points Friday night as Easton Valley defeated Cedar Valley Christian, 86-17, in a boys basketball game in Preston.

Easton Valley led at halftime, 57-6.

Kelvin Ridder led the Huskies (0-4) with seven points.

Ridder scores 10 for CVC boys

SPRINGVILLE - Kelvin Ridder scored 10 points for Cedar Valley Christian Tuesday in an 84-23 loss to Springville in a Tri-Rivers Conference game at Springville.

Ridder, a 6-foot junior, made four field goals and two free throws for the Huskies (0-2).

Elias Nissen led Springville (1-0) with 20 points.

Warriors overwhelm Huskies at MSR event

Cedar Valley Christian may have given the Washington Warriors a good game last year when the Huskies had five seniors in their starting lineup and the Warriors were coming off a winless campaign with a brand-new coach.

Not this year, however. Heavens no.

Washington blitzed the young Huskies, 91-7, in the final game of the Metro Sports Report.com Classic at Johnson Hall Saturday.

The Warriors have a collection of good athletes and good shooters and look like a club that could have a fine season. The Huskies, by contrast, are starting basically from scratch after finishing 14-9 last year with a veteran squad.
