WEST BRANCH -- Cedar Valley Christian built a 2-0 lead in the first half and held off Scattergood Friends, 3-1, Tuesday in boys soccer.

Tom Scroggs put Cedar Valley (1-2) on the board in the 14th minute, scoring a goal off a cross from Izzy Hoffman. Alex Kennedy's unassisted goal in the 18th minute pushed the Huskies' lead to 2-0.

Scattergood cut CVC's lead to 2-1 on a goal by Brian Turindwamukama in the 60th minute.

Jon Landis' goal in the 79th minute sealed the win for CVC.
