SHELLSBURG - Two girls basketball teams in desperate need of a victory met in Shellsburg Saturday and played a tight game.
Unfortunately for Cedar Valley Christian, it fell one point short.
Haley Risse and Abrah Meyer led a balanced attack with eight points apiece as Wapsie Valley denied the Huskies, 46-45.
Shelby Hembera led Cedar Valley (1-14) with 25 points. Lindsey Cach contributed 11 points.
Wapsie Valley won its second game of the season and raised its record to 2-17.
