PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Mount Mercy men's volleyball team raised its record to 18-7 Saturday by winning two matches in the Chicago suburbs.
The eighth-ranked Mustangs blanked Trinity Christian College, 25-20, 25-17, 26-24, in their first match. The Mustangs topped Cumberland University, 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16, in their second contest.
Julian Armendano collected 14 kills and 10 digs against Trinity Christian. Evan Gaskill had 12 kills. Andrew Colantone rolled up 34 assists. Nikola Stoimenov and Ben Steffen blocked three shots.
Gaskill had 26 assists against Cumberland. Steffen had 11 kill shots and Stoimenov had 10. Justin Atienza led the Mustangs in digs with nine. Steffen blocked four shots.
