FORT DODGE - Zion Pettigrew and Carter Lawler were the big stars for the Kirkwood baseball team Tuesday.
Pettigrew went 6-for-8 and belted two homers as the Eagles split an ICCAC Conference doubleheader at Fort Dodge.
Pettigrew was 3-for-3 with two homers and five RBIs as Kirkwood won the first game, 10-0. Lawler tossed a four-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and no walks in the victory.
Gabe Lux went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs in the opener.
Iowa Central rebounded with a 10-3 triumph in the second game. Pettigrew was 3-for-5 in Game 2. Kal Youngquist went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Kirkwood and Iowa Central split their four-game series this season. Kirkwood is now 12-8 overall and 2-2 in the conference, while Iowa Central is 11-10 overall and 2-2.
