Krysta Tutsch hit her eighth home run of the season Sunday as the 11th-ranked Kirkwood Eagles swept an ICCAC conference doubleheader from Marshalltown, 13-1 and 4-2, at the Kirkwood field in Cedar Rapids.
Tutsch belted her home run and drove in two runs to help Kirkwood Community College win the second contest. Chasney Jenkins went 2-for-3 in the game. Sam Belz (15-4, 1.19 ERA) pitched the first five innings for the victory, and Shy Saladino tossed the last two frames for the save.
Natalie Clark went 2-for-2 and drove in three runs in the opener. Brittney Lash also had three RBIs. Jenna Schulte went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Lexi Quandt drove in two runs.
Saladino (15-0, 0.80 ERA) pitched the first three innings for the victory. Madison Keyser pitched the last two innings.
Kirkwood raised its records to 32-5 overall and 13-1 in the conference. Marshalltown fell to 17-13 overall and 5-7 in the league.
