Brooke Prior and Natalie Clark socked home runs Friday as the fifth-ranked Kirkwood Eagles spanked Central Nebraska, 10-0, in five innings at the Kirkwood Community College diamond in Cedar Rapids.
Sam Belz (18-4, 1.17 ERA) allowed only three hits and struck out six batters in four innings.
Prior had three hits and drove in two runs. Clark drove in three runs and scored three times. Alex Finn and Chasney Jenkins had two hits. Alicia Crivaro drove in two runs.
Kirkwood (38-5) will be hosting a tournament at Kirkwood and Prairie High School on Saturday and Sunday. The Eagles will play all their games on their home field, facing Mineral Area at 11 a.m. and Dakota County at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Kirkwood is scheduled to face Central Nebraska at 10 a.m. and Kishwaukee at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
