Coe women 3rd at Simpson golf

INDIANOLA - The Coe College women's golf team placed third at the Simpson Invitational at the Indianola Country Club Monday.

Molly Geick led DMACC to the title as medalist.

Erin Lang led Coe with a 92.

3 Kohawks honored by IIAC

Haley Resnick, Mitch Berendes and Zach Doermann of Coe College have been honored by the Iowa Conference.

Resnick, a freshman, was named the Performer of the Week in women's tennis after going 3-0 in singles and 4-0 in doubles. She has a 7-0 record at No. 1 singles this season and a 6-0 mark in doubles.

Berendes, a linebacker, received Special Mention from the Iowa Conference after leading the Kohawks in tackles in their 50-21 victory over Cornell Saturday night.

Doermann received Special Mention for his work as Coe's punter against Cornell.

 

 

 

 

 

Coe women net win over Luther

Coe moved to 8-0 overall, 4-0 in Iowa Conference play with a 6-3 women's tennis dual win Sunday over Luther at the Clark Racquet Center.

The Kohawks, winners of their 27th straight league dual meet, took the top four singles matches, then took two of three doubles matches to secure the win.

Luther falls to 5-1, 2-1

Kohawk men fall in overtime

Coe scored the first goal, but couldn't hang on as Illinois Tech scored the deciding goal in overtime to post a 2-1 win Sunday at Clark Field.

Masine Zakaria scored for Coe (1-6) in the seventh minute on a penalty kick, but the visitors tied it in the 29th minute and won it on a Rex Meier goal off a corner kick in the 96th minute.

 

 

Fathallah's OT goal lifts Coe

Former Linn-mar prep Sarah Fathallah scored in the 109th minute off an assist from former Kennedy standout Jordan Holmes to give the Coe women's soccer team a 2-1 overtime win Sunday over Illinois Tech at Clark Field.

Coe (2-3) grabbed the lead in the fifth minute on a goal from Kelsey Fauser, also assisted by Holmes. Illinois Tech tied things up just before the half.

Kohawk goalie MJ Winterer had eight saves.
