Mount Mercy women fall to No. 10 club

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Mount Mercy women's basketball team gave 10th-ranked St. Francis a good battle Tuesday before falling, 60-56, at a holiday event in West Palm Beach.

Ashley Dolan led the Mustangs (6-10) with 14 points. Abby Herb and Alisa Weiland scored 11 points apiece. Makenzie Zeitler grabbed 12 rebounds.

Charnelle Reed led St. Francis (11-1) with 21 points.

Mustang women get win over Keiser

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Mount Mercy built a 12-point halftime lead and used a balanced offense to down Keiser, 67-53, in a women's basketball game here on Monday.

Latasha Harmon led Mount Mercy with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Cedar Rapids Washington graduate Abby Herb added 12 points for Mount Mercy (6-9). Makenzie Zeitler finished with 10 rebounds.

Mount Mercy outrebounded Keiser, 44-25.

Keiser (6-7) was led by Claudia Reque with 16 points and seven rebounds. Courtney Murphy had 14 points.

Mount Mercy trimmed by Alcorn State

The Mount Mercy women's basketball team gave Alcorn State a tough game Saturday before falling short, 60-56, at the Hennessey Recreation Center.

Alcorn State is an NCAA Division I program, but the Mustangs from the NAIA battled them to the wire.

Alisa Weiland hit a 3-pointer to pull Mount Mercy within 58-56 with 33 seconds left in the game. Weiland missed a layup with eight seconds leftnthat would have tied the contest and Alcorn State made two free throws with seven seconds to go for a four-point lead to clinch the victory.

Abby Herb scored 15 points for Mount Mercy (5-9). Weiland finished with 10npoints. Makenzie Zeitler contributed nine points and 10 rebounds. Latasha Harmon had seven points and eight rebounds.

Mount Mercy women fall to C-S

Abby Herb scored 12 points with three blocks to lead the Mount Mercy women’s basketball team in a 63-47 loss to Culver-Stockton on Thursday at the Hennessey Recreation Center.

The Mustangs trailed 24-9 in the first half and never fully recovered, although they pulled within 28-24 at intermission.

Alisa Weiland and Sara Blowers each had nine points for Mount Mercy (5-8). Makenzie Zeitler had eight points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
