IOWA CITY - The sixth-ranked Jefferson softball team cruised to a pair of 10-0 victories over Iowa City High Tuesday in Iowa City.

Both games ended early due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Alyssa Olson tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Jefferson in the first game. Tori Brandon, Maddie Hansen, Erin Kuba, Hannah Towns and Lindsey Culver all belted home runs for the J-Hawks. Hansen and Culver had three RBIs. Kuba was 3-for-3. Brandon and Towns had two hits.

Avery Guy socked two home runs and drove in four runs in the second game. Hansen and Kennedy Dighton both went 3-for-4 with home runs. Alissa Good was the winning pitcher.

Jefferson raised its records to 18-5 overall and 13-3 in the Mississippi Valley Conference. Iowa City High fell to 2-16 overall and 2-12 in the league.
