Lovig powers Kennedy swimmers

IOWA CITY – Kassidy Lovig earned an individual win and swam on a winning relay to lead the Kennedy girls swimming team to a third-place finish at the Little Hawk Invitational on Saturday at Mercer Park Aquatic Center.

Ankeny won with 298 points, Cedar Falls was second with 340, and the Cougars scored 319.

Lovig won the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 59.54 seconds for Kennedy. Darby Manternach, MacKinzee Macho, Lovig and Kirsten Siebenga also won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:42.22.
