Marion boys fall to Bobcats, 7-2

The Western Dubuque Bobcats defeated Marion, 7-2, in a Wamac Conference boys tennis meet at Marion on Friday.

Caleb Scott won his match at No.2 singles for the Indians with a 10-3 victory over Yash Pattel.

Aaron Smith and Seth Tuetken combined for an 11-10 victory at No.2 doubles for Marion. They won the tiebreaker, 7-4.

Marion boys slam Independence in tennis

Caleb Scott, Jeremy Ellerby, Seth Tuetken, Peter Ward and Nate Meister won their singles matches Thursday as Marion bounced Independence, 8-1, in a Wamac Conference boys tennis meet at Marion.

Scott and Ellerby combined for an 11-9 victory at No.1 doubles.

Kelly leads Marion golfers to victory

Ian Kelly fired a 39 Thursday to lead the Marion Indians by Center Point-Urbana, 172-212, in a Wamac Conference golf meet at the Gardner Golf Course.

Colton Mowry shot a 43 for the Indians.

Marion: Ian Kelly 39, Colton Mowry 43, Jeremy Schneiders 44, Daly Quinn 46.

Center Point-Urbana: Jared Metzen 52, Ross VandeVoort 52, Andrew Anstoetter 52, Garrett Lafler 56.

Marion girls net tennis victory

INDEPENDENCE — Allison Edwards, Kali Gamerdinger, Kate Quint, Madison Wilson and Sara Farnham won their singles matches Thursday as the Marion Indians topped Independence, 7-2, in a Wamac Conference tennis meet in Independence.

Edwards defeated Aubrey Nabholz at No.2 singles, 8-5.
