Machula is medalist at Airport golf

Emily Machula of Cedar Rapids Prairie shot a 36 Tuesday to claim medalist honors in a triangular golf meet at Airport National.

Kandis O'Donnell shot a 40 to help the Washington Warriors win the meet.

Lions, Hawks gain in boys soccer poll

The Linn-Mar Lions and Prairie Hawks both climbed one spot in the Class 3A boys soccer rankings Tuesday by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Linn-Mar jumped into the No. 4 spot in the poll and Prairie climbed into the No. 6 position. The Kennedy Cougars dropped two positions to 13th.

The Xavier Saints stayed No. 2 in the Class 2A rankings.

Prairie boys defeat Cedar Falls, 2-0

CEDAR FALLS - Logan Rinderknecht and Zach Lefebure each netted a goal at Prairie blanked Cedar Falls, 2-0, in Mississippi Valley Conference boys soccer action here Friday night.

Steve Fritz had an assist for the Hawks.

Alec Balta and Garret Hotop shared time in goal to post a shutout.

Prairie 11-2 overall, 9-2 in the MVC.

   

Prairie girls blank Tigers in soccer

McKenzie Serbousek collected a goal and an assist Friday as the Cedar Rapids Prairie girls soccer team blanked Cedar Falls, 2-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference match at John Wall Field.

Hayley Moyle scored the first goal for the Hawks.

Prairie raised its record to 8-3.

 

Washington girls nip Prairie in tennis

The Washington Warriors trimmed Prairie, 5-4, in a tight Mississippi Valley Conference girls tennis meet at Washington Friday.

Hannah Sherman, Kelly King, Jennifer Greif and Eliza Sundermann won their singles matches for Washington.

Vale Caro of Prairie topped Lilly Hartman, 10-2, at No. 1 singles.
