Rima, VanDraska star for Prairie

DUBUQUE - Jalen Rima of Prairie strengthened his position as one of the fastest runners in the state Thursday night at the Class 4A district track meet in Dubuque.

Rima, a junior, captured the 200 meter dash in 22.07 seconds and claimed the 400 meter dash in 48.54 seconds. Both times are the fastest in the state this year. He took over the lead in the 200 and lowered his own state-best time in the 400.

Tysen VanDraska of Prairie also was a double-champion in the district meet. He won the 800 in 1:59.40 and took the 1600 in 4:29.30.

Hannah Frazee of Prairie won the girls 3000-meter run in 10:39.70.

Sebousek's 4 goals lift Prairie girls

MaKenzie Sebousek scored four goals, leading the Prairie girls soccer team to a 7-1 win over visiting Solon on Thursday night at John Wall Field.

Hannah Kousheh, Ali Vaske, and Paige Pritts also scored for the Hawks, now 7-3.

Adelaide Bayne had two assists while Kousheh, Taylor Russell, Sophie Ortiz and Andrea Reutzel had one each for Prairie.

Solon’s lone goal came on a PK from Josie Durr.

 

Rinderknecht gets hat trick for Hawks

DUBUQUE - Logan Rinderknecht fired in three goals Tuesday as the seventh-ranked Prairie Hawks stuffed Dubuque Senior, 4-0, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match in Dubuque.

Boston Riley scored the fourth goal for Prairie. Sam Mineck collected two assists and Ben Drysdale had one assist. Alec Balta posted the shutout in goal.

Prairie raised its records to 10-2 overall and 8-2 in the MVC.

   

Prairie girls shut out Kennedy

Vale Caro defeated Shelby Cook, 10-1, at No. 1 singles Tuesday as Prairie blitzed Kenned 9-0 in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet at Prairie.

Magui Caro, Karleigh Schilling, Shannon Costigan, Anna Postnikov and Michelle Grenn also won their singles matches for the Hawks.

Kennedy trims Prairie in boys tennis

Rami Hemaidan defeated Evan Gaskill, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles Monday to help Kennedy nip Prairie, 5-4, in a Mississippi Valley Conference tennis meet at Kennedy.

Corey Duncan, Kyle Butler and Matt Jontz also won their singles matches for Kennedy. Jason Niccolls and Brandon Bruhn won their matches for Prairie.
