No.9 Prairie boots No.14 Warriors

The Cedar Rapids Prairie boys soccer team is still perfect for the 2015 campaign.

Perfect record, perfect defense.

The ninth-ranked Hawks blanked No.14 Washington, 2-0, at Prairie Thursday night in a Mississippi Valley Conference match at Prairie.

Prairie raised its records to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the league. Most remarkably, the Hawks have outscored their opponents 44-0 this season.

Logan Rinderknecht fired in both goals for Prairie in the second half. Steve Fritz and Joe Vizzini collected assists. Alec Balta pitched the shutout in goal.

Serbousek leads Prairie past Wash

Mackenzie Serbousek scored two goals and handed out an assist to lead Prairie to a 4-2 girls soccer win over Washington on Thursday night at Kingston Stadium.

Paige Pritts and Hannah Kousheh also had goals for the Hawks. Kousheh and Cayla Renwick also had assists for Prairie.

Hannah Sacora and Katie Kigin scored for the Warriors. Toni Eniola had an assist for the Washington.

 

Warrior boys blank J-Hawks, 9-0

Parker Muller, Oliver Hammond and Will Rizer all won their matches without dropping a game as the Washington boys tennis team downed Jefferson, 9-0 at Jefferson.

Hammond and Jackson Hoyt also won at No. 1 doubles without dropping a match.

Wash netters blank J-Hawks

Washington dropped just six games in nine matches, blanking Jefferson, 9-0, in girls tennis action on Thursday at Jefferson.

Lilly Hartman, Hannah Sherman, Kelly King and Laura Gibson all won their singles matches by 10-0 scores.

Schulz, Sarasin lift Cougars by Wash

Mark Schulz scored two goals Tuesday night to help fourth-ranked Kennedy defeat No. 15 Washington, 3-1, in a Mississippi Valley Conference soccer match at Kingston Stadium.

Jacob Sarasin collected a goal and an assist for the Cougars. Sam Hanzelka also had an assist.

Kennedy raised its records to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the league.
