J-Hawks overwhelm Waterloo East

Senior Nicole Werling rolled high game and series of 201-368 and Jefferon steamrolled Waterloo East, 2690-1959, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls’ bowling meet Friday (Dec. 3) at May City Bowl.

Jefferson (2-0) had all five of its bowlers roll series in the mid 300s. Whitnie Jones was a close second to Werling with a 190-361.

Jefferson built a 419-pin advantage in the first round, then scored a 934 in the Baker round to overwhelm the Trojans (0-2).

 

“The girls rolled well,” Jefferson Coach Virg Cerveny said.

Jefferson’s next match is Friday against Washington at May City Bowl.

WATERLOO EAST (1959): Louisa Metz 167-251, Rachel Button 134-246, Shilo Lutjen 136-232, Alexis Loftus 136-249, Breanna Fecht 192-359.

JEFFERSON (2690): Nicole Werling 201-368, Jessie Alff 169-331, Anna Striegel 175-344, Nicole Petersen 182-352, Whitnie Jones 190-361.

First round — Jefferson 1756, East 1337. Baker round — Jefferson 934, East 622.
