CLINTON - The Jefferson girls won the Class 2A regional bowling tournament Thursday and qualified for next week's state meet.

The J-Hawks scored 2620 pins. Clinton (2559) was second, followed by Dubuque Senior (2404) and Dubuque Hempstead (2304).

No individual scores were available.

The Jefferson boys had a far tougher day, finishing fourth in the four team regional. Host Clinton (3195) won, Hempstead (3165) was second, Senior (3074) was third and the J-Hawks (2962) fourth. Clinton annd Hempstead advanced to the state meet.
