J-Hawk girls sweep soccer doubleheader

WATERLOO -- Freshman Kayla Jaschen scored four goals and Maggie Bruckman had three goals, three assists and three saves to lead Jefferson to a pair of girls soccer wins Saturday.

Jefferson (6-8, 5-6 MVC) beat Cedar Falls, 1-0, in a shootout, then whipped Waterloo East 10-0 in a game that was ended by the mercy rule at halftime.

Bruckman, an Iowa State signee, had three saves in goal during the shootout against Cedar Falls. Jefferson won the game by penalty kicks, 3-1.

Jaschen capped her scoring outburst with a goal from just inside the 18-yard line. The J-Hawks also got goals from Brooke Barnhart, Trina Gallagher and Jenna Owen.

The 11 goals matched Jefferson's total in its first 12 games.
