BOONE - Kasey Semler scored 27 points and Kirkwood raced past DMACC, 96-86, Saturday afternoon in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference men's basketball.
The win clinched second place for Kirkwood (18-12, 9-5). The Eagles will host NIACC in a first-round regional tournament game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson Hall.
Semler led six Eagles in double figures Saturday. J.C. Fuller added 17, Taylor Olson 14 and Gage Heffernan had 11. Kevin Hunter and Shaun Manego had 10 apiece.
Kirkwood led 45-38 at halftime. Semler had 20 points in the first half, including four 3-pointers.
The Eagles won the game at the free-throw line, cashing in 27 of 36 shots.
DMACC (17-13, 6-8) was led by LaTree Russell's 28 points.
