CENTRALIA, Ill. - The Kirkwood Community College softball team won a pair of games from Kaskaskia on Saturday.
The Eagles defeated Kaskaskia, 5-0, in the completion of a suspended game from Friday, then blanked Kaskaskia again, 12-0, with an 11-hit attack.
The Eagles (4-2) played another game Saturday and lost to Kankakee, 2-0, despite a strong pitching performance by Amber Logemann.
Kayla Tatge went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs in the 12-0 victory against Kaskaskia. Leah Duffe and Kelsie Campbell also had two hits. Lauren Weber and Alana Boehm drove in two runs.
Shyanne Saladino pitched four shutout innings for the victory. Sam Belz finished the contest as the two Eagles twirled a five-hitter.
Logemann struck out 13 batters and allowed only four hits against Kankakee, but Kankakee snapped a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the seventh inning for the victory.
