Prairie vaulted five spots to the top of the Class 3A boys soccer poll in rankings released Tuesday by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
The Hawks, undefeated at 8-0, received nine of a possible 10 first-place votes to claim the No.1 spot.
Kennedy, fresh off a 3-0 venture at the West Des Moines Valley Invitational that included a win over the previous No.1 Tigers, received the other first-place vote and is second in the poll. The Cougars (5-0) were ranked 10th last week.
Washington (3-1) slipped two spots to No.5 after a 1-0 loss to Prairie last week.
Linn-Mar (5-1) moved up two spots to No.12. The Lions' win Monday night over Class 2A No.1 Dubuque Wahlert was not reflected in the poll.
Xavier (2-1) is ranked second in Class 2A.
