CROWDER, Mo. - The Kirkwood softball team won all three of its games at the Crowder Classic in Crowder, Mo., Monday.
The fifth-ranked Eagles topped Seminole State, 4-0, on a four-hit shutout by Sam Belz. Chasney Jenkins and Erin Weno went 2-for-4.
Kirkwood swept two games from Central Methodist, 8-0 and 11-2, raising its record to 15-4 for the season.
Belz and Madison Keysor combined on a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the first game against Central Methodist. Weno went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Tara Walls was 2-for-4. Natalie Clark and Brooke Prior had two RBIs.
Shy Saladino tossed a six-hitter with eight strikeouts in the 11-2 victory over Central Methodist. Clark had three RBIs. Lexi Quandt was 2-for-2 and scored three runs. Jenkins, Walls, Taylor Wise and Saladino had two RBIs.
