Former Metro preps in pro baseball

RYAN SWEENEY (Xavier, Boston Red Sox) -- Sweeney started in right field Saturday and hit seventh in the lineup. He went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and an RBI in Boston's 7-4 victory at Detroit. He also committed a throwing error. Sweeney is hitting .321 (45 for 140) and is tied for fifth in the American League with 16 doubles.

SCOTT SCHEBLER (Prairie, Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers), MWL) -- Schebler started in left field Saturday and hit fifth in the lineup. He went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in a 7-4 loss to West Michigan. He also stole his sixth base of the year. Schebler is hitting .266 with four homers and 34 RBIs and leads the Midwest League with six triples.
