DUBUQUE - Alyssa Olson struck out 16 batters Thursday as Cedar Rapids Jefferson topped Dubuque Wahlert, 10-2, in the first game of a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader in Dubuque.

The ninth-ranked J-Hawks (21-6, 14-4) finished the sweep with a 10-0 victory in six innings in the nightcap.

Maddie Hansen belted two home runs and drove in five runs for Jefferson in the first game. Hannah Towns hit a home run and drove in four runs.

Maddie Koolbeck and Kaitlyn Davidson went 2-for-3 in the opener.

Kaitlyn Holub smacked a home run and drove in three runs in the second game. Dani Stromert and Koolbeck had two hits. Koolbeck drove in two runs in the twinbill.
