IOWA CITY - The Iowa City West Trojans scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday to defeat Kennedy, 5-4, in the opening game of a Mississippi Valley Conference baseball doubleheader in Iowa City.
The second game was suspended in the top of the second inning due to weather with Iowa City West holding an 8-0 lead.
Tony Maiers went 2-for-2 with two doubles for Kennedy (1-3, 0-1). Brock Skow went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Derek Jacobus was 2-for-2 and scored two runs.
Devin Raffensberger went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Iowa City West. Declan Doyle and Tyus Adkins had two doubles for the Trojans.
