CEDAR FALLS - Matt Bohannon will be in the starting lineup Saturday when the University of Northern Iowa basketball team hosts Briar Cliff in an exhibition game at the McLeod Center.

Bohannon is a 6-foot-4 redshirt freshman from Linn-Mar High School. He helped the Lions win the 2011 Class 4A state title with a 26-0 record and was named the captain of the state tournament team that year.

"Matt just keeps getting better and better," UNI Coach Ben Jacobson said. "We like his size, his ability to shoot the ball from the 3-point line and his toughness."

Bohannon averaged 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists as a senior at Linn-Mar and made 45 percent of his 3-pointers.

Northern Iowa will open the regular season against Wartburg on Nov. 10.
