Printy nets 16 as Wash nips Prairie

Jared Printy scored 16 points to lead the Washington boys basketball team to a 48-47 win over Prairie on Tuesday at Washington.

After a back-and-forth first half, the second half was close all the way and the Warriors improved to 9-9 with the win.

Keegan Moore scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Washington.

Max Smith Drahos led the Prairie Hawks (8-11) with 10 points and five assists. Ben Boldt added eight points with eight rebounds.

Prairie girls roll past Mount Vernon

Emily Rotter scored 16 points to lead a balanced offensive attack as Prairie downed Mount Vernon, 63-42, in a non-conference girls basketball game Monday night at Prairie.

Olivia Usher added 11 points for the Hawks while teammates Makenzie Stoffer and Halle Person had 10 each.

Allison Platte, Libby Ryan and Kristin Elliott each scored nine to pace Mount Vernon.

McDonnell paces Rams by Prairie

Luke McDonnell scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds Friday night as Dubuque Senior topped Prairie, 50-40, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at Prairie.

McDonnell, a 6-foot-10 senior, has signed to play at the University of Northern Iowa.

Max Smith Drahos scored 14 points for Prairie (8-10). Dubuque Senior raised its record to 9-8.

Prairie girls win at Dubuque Senior

DUBUQUE – Emily Rotter scored 11 points to lead the Prairie girls basketball team to a 49-45 win over Dubuque Senior on Friday.

Jenna Wagemester added nine points for the Prairie Hawks (3-15).

Makenzie Williams and Emma Noel led the Rams (6-13) with 17 and 12 points, respectively.

Trojans hand Prairie girls first loss

Rylee Blood soared with a 229 game and a 443 series to lead the fifth-ranked Prairie girls bowling team in a 2,791 to 2,740 loss to Waterloo East on Friday at Lancer Lanes.

It was the first loss of the season for the Prairie Hawks (9-1).

Leah Frost and Josie Jacobs each rolled 372 series for the Trojans (11-1).
