Metro grads help UNI set 3-point mark
CEDAR FALLS - Matt Bohannon, Wes Washpun and Max Martino helped the University of Northern Iowa break the school record for most 3-pointers Wednesday night in a 95-81 victory over Evansville at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.
The Panthers made 17 3-pointers, snapping the old mark of 15.
Bohannon, a Linn-Mar graduate, hit six triples and scored 19 points. Washpun, a Cedar Rapids Washington graduate, made a pair of 3-pointers and scored 11 points. Martino, a Kennedy grad, made one 3-pointer for three points.
Washpun, who missed 12 straight 3-pointers to begin the season, has made seven in a row.
