Dorrington named Xavier girls soccer coach

PDF

Bailey Dorrington has been named the new girls soccer coach at Xavier High School.

She replaces Doug Graham, who resigned after leading the Saints to three consecutive state titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Graham will remain with the program as an assistant coach, but wants to devote more time to his business interests.

Dorrington was an all-state soccer player at Xavier and was a member of three state championship teams. She also helped the Saints win two state titles in basketball.

Dorriington was an assistant soccer coach for Xavier last spring when the Saints won their seventh state title in a row, an unprecedented achievement in Iowa high school girls athletics in any sport.

"Bailey did an outstanding job last year in her first year coaching at Xavier and is ready for the challenge of leading the Xavier girls soccer program," Xavier activities director Mike Winker said in a news release.

Dorrington graduated from Xavier in 2007 and graduated from Drake University in 2011. She won four varsity letters in soccer at Drake and served as team captain in 2011.

Graham compiled a 59-4 record during his three years as head coach.

"I am grateful for all that Doug has done for Xavier girls soccer," said Winker. "He took over the program three years ago and added stability for our team and continued the tradition of excellence."
