Huskies stumble at Cal-Wheatland

WHEATLAND - Calamus-Wheatland went on a third quarter rampage to erase a 15-point deficit and went on to beat Cedar Valley Christian, 63-58, Friday night in boys basketball.

Cedar Valley (11-8) held a 32-17 lead at halftime, but was outscored 24-9 in the third quarter.

The Huskies found the range in the fourth, scoring 21 points, but Cal-Wheatland scored 22.

Will Muhlbach led CVC with 16 points. Jeremy Strutz added 15, Evan Koch had 12 and Jon Landis 10.

The loss was only the second for the Huskies in their last 12 games.

CEDAR VALLEY (58): Tom Scroggs 2 0-2 4, Evan Koch 5 0-0 12, Jon Landis 5 0-3 10, Spencer Zielke 0 1-2 1, Jeremy Strutz 5 4-4 15, Will Muhlbach 3 10-16 16. Totals 20 15-27 58.

Halftime - Cedar Valley 32, Calamus-Wheatland 17. 3-point field goals - Cedar Valley 3 (Koch 2, Strutz).
