Quincy Bruce of Washington, Tara Trcka of Xavier and Amanda Wiedemeier of Kennedy were named Athletes of the Year on the Mississippi Valley Conference bowling teams Thursday.

Bruce, Trcka and Wiedemeier also were unanimous selections on the All-Metro bowling teams that were announced Thursday. Dreyson Robe of Linn-Mar and Austin Kluth of Jefferson joined them as unanimous picks on the All-Metro squad.

Bruce, Robe, Trcka and Nicole Petersen of Jefferson were unanimous choices on the all-MVC teams.

Virg Cerveny of Jefferson was named the Coach of the Year in the MVC and the Metro for girls bowling. Andy Diercks of Linn-Mar was honored as the Coach of the Year in the MVC and the Metro for boys bowling.
