Kehe named Linn-Mar volleyball coach

PDF

Teresa Kehe, one of the most successful prep volleyball coaches in state history, has been named the new volleyball coach at Linn-Mar High School.

Kehe won six state titles at Tripoli High School and led the Panthers to the state finals eight straight years from 1998 to 2005.

Kehe compiled a 579-140-37 record in 23 years at Tripoli. She twice was a finalist for National Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011.

Kehe served as the head coach at Loras College the past seven years. She compiled a 132-112 record with the Duhawks, won two Iowa Conference titles, led her team to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history and was named Iowa Conference Coach of the Year in 2008.

"We are so excited to have Coach Kehe here at Linn-Mar," said Tonya Moe, the school's associate athletic director. "Her success as a volleyball coach speaks for itself, but what is more important is her philosophy of teaching, coaching and working with young people in general."

Kehe will be a physical education instructor at Linn-Mar. She succeeds Rob Justis as volleyball coach. Her appointment was approved by the Linn-Mar School Board Monday night.

Kehe is a Cedar Rapids Jefferson graduate.
