WEST DES MOINES - No.9 Kennedy toppled No.1 West Des Moines Valley, 1-0, Friday night in a shootout victory at the Tiger Invitational.

There was no score after regulation and overtime. Kennedy beat Valley, 4-3, on penalty kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Nathan Althoff was the hero for Kennedy with three saves in the penalty kick shootout.

Mitch Bobbin, Reid Botkin, Killian Magee and Andrew Sheeley made kicks for Kennedy in the shootout.

Kennedy is 3-0-0. The Cougars play 2A No.3 Norwalk and 3A No.7 Pleasant Valley on Saturday.
