Monica Busse staked Xavier to a 1-0 lead. She scored with 30:06 left in the first half off an assist from Jenny Dickes.

Muscatine scored a tying goal with 21:46 left in the first half.

There was no scoring in the second half nor in the first overtime.

Armstrong scored the winning goal off an assist from Sarah Dickes.

Xavier put 12 shots on goal, Muscatine eight. Armstrong struck nine shots on goal for the Saints.

Xavier keeper Sara Chicchelly had seven saves.
