No.1 Cougars end 2-game skid

WATERLOO - No.1 Kennedy scored a pair of first-half goals and beat Waterloo West, 2-1, Monday in a boys soccer game at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

The win snapped a two-game skid for the Cougars (12-2, 9-2 MVC).

Kennedy's first goal was scored by Eric Bertroche in the 18th minute and was assisted by Sameeullah Jung and Andrew Sheeley.

The second goal, scored in the 22nd minute, was finished by Jung on assists to Killian Magee and Nate Waterhouse.

The Cougars missed several opportunities in the second half.

West scored on a penalty kick with four minutes remaining.
