IOWA CITY - The ninth-ranked Jefferson softball team won a pair of tight Mississippi Valley Conference battles with Iowa City High, 4-3 and 6-3, Thursday in Iowa City.

Alyssa Olson raised her record to 15-1 in the opener with an 11-strikeout performance. Kaitlin Davidson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Amber Grimm went 2-for-3 and Maddie Koolbeck was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Brooke Stauffer (9-5) was the winning pitcher in the second game. Davidson went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Grimm also socked a home run. Maddie Hansen went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Jefferson raised its records to 25-7 overall and 17-5 in the conference.
