Cedar Rapids Jefferson freshman Kelsey Drake has been named the Athlete of the Year on the 2013 All-Metro Swimming and Diving Team.

Drake placed second in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly at the state meet in Marshalltown Saturday.

Kennedy led the All-Metro squad with seven first-team selections with Maddie Bagby, Hannah Botkin, Katie Ferguson, Sam Jacobsen, Kirsten Siebenga, Brooke Timmerman and Michele Wasta.

The Linn-Mar Lions had five first-pick picks with Alyssa Deuso, Samantha Fitzgerald, Jenn Jenks, Stephanie Jenks and Mikaela Lengwin.

Jaylee Chung of Jefferson and Kaitlyn Nemickas of Washington also received first-team honors.

Ryan York of Jefferson and Megan Lewis of Washington were named the co-Coaches of the Year, along with their assistants.
