State wrestling tickets going on sale

BOONE - Tickets for the popular Iowa high school state wrestling tournament, which has been a sold-out event for more than 20 years, will go on sale in December.

Tickets will no longer be purchased from the Iowa High School Athletic Association or distributed by the IHSAA, according to changes adopted at the IHSAA board meeting this month.

The high schools and the general public will be able to purchase tickets through a walk-up process at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines or online.

Ticket sales to IHSAA member schools that host wrestling programs will begin Monday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. and end on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m. The order limit is 60 tickets per school.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. The public will be able to purchase tickets at the Iowa Events Center, any Dahl's store, online at or by calling 1-866-55-DAHLS. The limit is eight tickets per order.

The ticket price is $8 per ticket, plus a convenience fee of $1.75 per ticket. There will be a $4 handling fee per order. A valid credit card will be needed to make an online purchase.

Anyone with questions about tickets can call the Iowa Events Center ticket office at 515-564-8300.
