RACINE, Wis. - Linn-Mar sophomore Stephanie Jenks placed second at the Foot Locker Midwest Region Championships Saturday at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Racine, Wis.

Kelcy Welch, a senior from Carmel, Ind., won the race in 17 minutes, 34 seconds. Jenks finished five seconds later in 17:39.

Linn-Mar senior Josh Evans finished 16th in his race in 15:37.

Jenks won the Iowa Class 4A state cross country title as a freshman in 2012, but she did not run for the Lions this fall and has forfeited the rest of her high school eligibility by competing in races with collegiate runners.

Evans won the Iowa Class 4A state title this year and will run at Iowa State next season.
