DUBUQUE - Dani Franklin collected 33 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night as Cedar Rapids Washington defeated Dubuque Hempstead, 62-49, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game in Dubuque.
Franklin has produced two monster double-doubles in a row for the Warriors (3-1, 2-1). She had 37 points and 11 rebounds against Dubuque Senior Saturday and is averaging 23 points and 6.8 rebounds for the campaign.
Franklin made 11 of 23 shots from the field, including 4 of 9 from behind the 3-point line, and hit 7 of 8 free throws.
Washington trailed 10-2 after the first quarter, but the Warriors broke loose for 24 points in the second quarter and led 26-18 at halftime.
Aleena Hobbs contributed 15 points and seven rebounds for Washington.
Jessica Brown scored 11 points for Hempstead (2-2, 0-2).
