WEST DES MOINES - Brenden Baker and Josh Allen won championships Saturday for the Jefferson J-Hawks at the West Des Moines Valley-Johnston wrestling tournament.

Baker collected three straight pins at 106 pounds and stuck Alec Ksiazek of Johnston in 5:37 in the finals. Allen defeated Nick Tank of Winterset, 5-1, in the finals at 195 pounds.

Jefferson finished second out of 12 teams in the tournament. Waverly-Shell Rock, ranked No.3 in Class 3A, won the title with 237 points. The J-Hawks were next with 198.5.

Kyle Briggs (120), Tavian Rashed (145), Kelly May (152) and Dalton Kuehl (220) placed second for Jefferson. Patrick Rashed (126) finished third. Matt Culver (132) and Luke Sedlacek (160) were fifth for the J-Hawks.
