Washington held a 79-77 lead heading into the final event, the 400 freestyle relay. The Warriors could win the meet with a first-place finish, or tie by finishing second and third.

Washington's Jared Thorson won the 100 butterfly, but was touched out by .08 seconds and finished second in the 50.
