The Kennedy Cougars slipped one spot to No.7 in the IGHSAU Class 5A girls basketball rankings Thursday after losing to No.4 Waukee in overtime last Saturday.

The Xavier Saints, who have fallen to 6-6 for the season, dropped four spots to No.9 in the Class 4A rankings.

The top-ranked teams in the state are Iowa City High in 5A, Harlan in 4A, MOC-Floyd Valley in 3A, Western Christian in 2A and Newell-Fonda in 1A.
