Prairie girls miss Dellamuth in loss

The Cedar Rapids Prairie girls basketball team scored only 11 points in the first half Tuesday night and lost to Dubuque Hempstead, 47-36, in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at Prairie.

Prairie star Madison Dellamuth missed the game due to the flu.

Ashley Dolan led Hempstead with 17 points. Gabbrielle Riley scored 12 points and Danielle Wagner had 10.

Cyerra Hutchins led Prairie (6-7) with eight points. The Hawks trailed at halftime, 24-11.

 

HEMPSTEAD (47): Kimble 0 1-2 1, Bybee 0 0-0 0, Wagner 3 2-2 10, Dolan 5 6-8 17, Brown 2 0-0 5, Samson 0 0-0 0, Koerperich 1 0-0 2, Riley 5 2-4 12. Totals 16 11-16 47.

PRAIRIE (36): Moenk 1 1-2 3, C.Hutchins 3 2-4 8, Adams 1 0-0 2, Rotter 3 0-0 7, Altenhofen 1 1-3 4, Usher 1 0-0 2, S.Hutchins 2 0-0 6, Freeman 0 2-2 2, Stoffer 1 0-0 2. Totals 13 6-11 36.
