You'll have to excuse the Lembeck brothers if they rooted against their own teammates a little bit Thursday night.

Ross Lembeck wrestles for Linn-Mar and his brother, Clint, competes for Xavier, and their teams faced each other in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet at Xavier.

Ross Lembeck, a senior who is ranked No.1 at 152 pounds for the Lions, returned from a knee injury and pinned his opponent. Clint Lembeck, a sophomore who is ranked No.4 at 132 pounds for the Saints, defeated sixth-ranked Matt Wempen, 5-1.

Linn-Mar won the meet, 43-18.

Both Lembeck brothers came up through the Catholic school system in Cedar Rapids, but Ross Lembeck enrolled at Linn-Mar as a freshman. Clint Lembeck remained in the Catholic system and went straight to Xavier.

Linn-Mar and Xavier defeated Waterloo East in the other MVC matches Thursday.

Alijah Jeffery, ranked No.1 at 120 pounds, collected a major decision and technical fall for the Lions. Nick Drahozal, ranked No.4 at 145 pounds, had a decision and pin for the Saints.

Cole Turner returned to the lineup at 285 pounds for Xavier and fashioned a decision and a pin.
