Moses stepping down at Prairie

PDF

After four seasons, James Moses is stepping down as the head boys basketball coach at Cedar Rapids Prairie effective at the conclusion of the season.

The announcement was made Wednesday night.

"Coach Moses is very passionate about the game of basketball," said Activities Director Rocky Bennett. "He was committed to helping our boys improve at all levels as players and, more importantly, as young men. He is such a quality person and we are appreciative of his dedicated service to Prairie."

Before coming to Prairie, Moses was an assistant men's basketball coach at Mount Mercy University. He also spent eight seasons as an assistant boys basketball coach at Cedar Rapids Washington.

"I've truly enjoyed the opportunity that College Community gave me," said Moses.  "Prairie Basketball has a bright future ahead. We are returning all of our varsity players and there are a lot of talented kids that will be coming up from our youth programs."

Moses said he was stepping away to spend more time with his family.

The search for a new coach will begin at the conclusion of the season.
